It is the winner of two 2009 MN Book Awards: for creative onfiction/memoir and the Reader’s
Choice Book of the Year. It is the winner of the Skipping Stones Book in Intercultural Writing,
the Gustavus Center’s Center for the Study of Human Right’s Notable Book and Honorable
Mention for Asian Award in Literature.
