Dessa Described as one of the "most diverse and talented artists in indie rap ..." (URB) and a "one-woman powerhouse ... with a literary sesibility and an aversion to genre cliches" (Utne Reader), Minnesota native Dessa has emerged on the national scene as a rapper, singer, and a potent, imaginative lyricist. For the first time, Dessa hosts, curates, and headlines this one-of-a-kind event, and will collaborate with a visual artist - the award-winning figure theater artist Michael Sommers. The evening will also include new, commissioned music from some of Minneapolis’ finest- Jeremy Messersmith, Cecil Otter, Aby Wolf, Crescent Moon, Black Blondie, and Robert Robinson.
